This is a battle I have fought my whole life. There are good days and bad days. Hell, there are good months and bad months.

Put the scale away, go by how your clothes feel, how you feel.

You are beautiful.

Thank you, Jodi. I think it's important to talk about it, so I should probably do that more.

I understand your struggle and admire your strength to even stay engaged. If I want to lose weight, it has to become an all-consuming (haha) obsession...and lately (for about the past 5 years) I just haven't felt like I have the energy to take it on.

Hug.

I totally get the struggle, and of course I hate the setback feeling. Ugh. It sounds like you've got a great attitude about it though - just getting back to it as soon as you can is all you can do.

I've finally gotten the weight off (again, for the 3rd time), and am struggling with keeping it off. My brain is so stupid sometimes! *laugh*

Come over to Arlington and we'll walk (or run) the W&OD trail to burn calories!

Stuck in my head

  • The Next Messiah
    Jenny Lewis :
Such a cool song. I love everything she does, it seems.
  • Worn Me Down
    Rachael Yamagata:
  • People Got a Lotta Nerve
    Neko Case:
My favorite song from her new record.
  • Heavenly Day
    Patty Griffin:
I need this song every day right now. She is amazing.
  • Don't Go Away Mad
    Motley Crue:
I'm trying to reclaim my lost childhood, don't ask.
  • To Make You Feel My Love
    Adele:
I love her. I love this. Beauteous.
  • Float On
    Modest Mouse:
Again, I listen to this song compulsively in the summer too. I'm so weird. Deeper, non-hit stuff is actually better in some cases but what can I say. (If you only know the hits, download "Ocean Breathes Salty." Rad.)
  • People Got a Lotta Nerve
    Neko Case:
If I could sing really well I think I'd want to sound like her. New stuff is really good and this is my favorite song. If you can see her, go. Gogogogogo. You won't be sorry. And please don't talk, like those assholes behind me when I went. Thanks.
  • Are We the Waiting/St. Jimmy
    Green Day:
I saw them live for this record alone. I love this song. They did not disappoint me in any way, shape or form. Also there were a lot of aging rocker boys there so it was kind of fun.
  • Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not
    Arctic Monkeys:
I'm their bitch right now, basically. And how can you also not love a song with this title? There are better on the album, but..."I'm talking gibberish/slip of the tongue," etc.
